Kenya Premier League Side AFC Leopards managed to raise a total of 2.7 Million Shillings from it’s fundraiser held at the Crowne Plaza, Nairobi on Thursday Night.
The fundraiser was graced by politicians and other football lovers led by coaches from different teams.
Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka was the guest of honor while devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa was represented by his personal assistant. Also present was ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
Wamalwa promised to deliver a brand new bus for Ingwe at the Bukhungu Stadium when they host their next match there.
AFC Leopards have been in great financial crisis following the withdrawal of their sponsor Sportpesa. The team has been unable to pay players their salaries on time. It has therefore been forced to depend on donations from fans as it continues it’s search for a new sponsor.
Ingwe will next take on Ulinzi Stars at the Machakos Stadium before turning it’s attention to their fierce rivals Gor Mahia for this season’s first Mashemeji Derby on November 10, 2019.
