Football powerhouse Gor Mahia are in the process of rebuilding their team ahead of the new season.
The rebuilding season has seen experienced players like Jack Tuyisenge and Francis Kahata leave with the club also making a number of signings to help boost it’s squad ahead of the new season.
Gor Mahia recently completed the signing of Tanzanian pair of Singida United keeper David Kissu and winger Dickson Ambundo from Alliance FC.
The other new signings are: Dennis Oalo, Curtis Wekesa, Tobias Otieno, Elvis Ronack and Abdalla Shira.
New signings also means that a number of players will have to give way for the new faces.
With that in mind, Kogallo through CEO Lordvick Aduda have confirmed that they have released three players as the rebuilding of the team continues.
The Players released are former Tusker FC midfielder Cercidy Okeyo, former Kariobangi Sharks defender Pascal Ogweno and goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji.
“The technical bench recommended that the trio be released, and we were just acting on those recommendations. So they are not part of our plans for the new season and have an opportunity to get other teams to play for,” Said Aduda.
There have been reports that Francis Mustafa was also dropped by Kogallo.
Well, Aduda has now confirmed that Mustafa is still part of the Gor Mahia family and that he is yet to jet to camp following his AFCON exploits with the Burundi National Team.
“For Mustapha (Francis), he has been in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) and will join the team on a later date as he is still part of us and we have not released him.”
Gor Mahia is also set to lose foward George Blackberry Odhiambo after his contract ran down. Odhiambo is yet to engage the Kogallo management with regards to talks of a fresh contract.
Ugandan Import Erisa Ssekisambu has also been released by Gor Mahia.
