Fresh from beating fierce rivals AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji derby, Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia have named their travelling squad ahead of their upcoming international friendly with Libyan giants Al Hilal Benghazi.
Kogallo will have to make do without the services of captain Kenneth Muguna and his assistant Joash Onyango. Also, not available for selection is midfield maestro Lawrence Juma with the trio committed to national team duties with Harambee Star ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifier against Egypt.
Goal keeper David Mapigano is also another notable absentee with the former Singida United man earning a call up with Tanzania ahead of their AFCON qualifier against Equatorial Guinea on Friday.
Gor Mahia will be looking to take their Mashemeji Derby form into the friendly as the team aims to build more momentum even as the race for the Kenya Premier League title hot’s up.
Last week saw Gor Mahia suffer it’s first League loss of the season at the hands of Mathare United but the team responded so well when they faced Ingwe on Sunday with a 4-1 win.
Ivorian Import Yikpe Gnamien grabbed a brace with Clifton Miheso and Lawrence Juma adding two more goals in the second half.
Gor Mahia and Al Hilal will face off on Saturday, 16 in the City of Benghazi.
Gor is set to depart Nairobi on Tuesday morning via Cairo, Egypt for a one day stopover enroute Benghazi.
