Gor Mahia will no longer play it’s home games at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu. This follow’s a decision by the club management through chairman Ambrose Rachier to avoid the stadium owing to low gate collections due to fraud.
“Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier cancels Moi Stadium, Kisumu as a home venue for the club, cites low gate collection returns due to fraud,” Read a statement on the Club’s official twitter account.
With this new development, Gor Mahia’s KPL Match against Chemelil Sugar will see the Kenyan Champions become the visiting team as the Millers Play hosts.
The latest developments come at a time when the club is trying so much to digitize it ticketing system.
Last month saw the club roll out an e-ticketing system with the Kenyan giants partnering with technology company Infinity Tickets (Africa Data Technologies Limited) to introduce e-ticketing.
The revolutionary electronic system is aimed at boosting matchday revenues by weeding out sale of fake tickets. The system is also in line with the club’s policy of implementing hassle-free access to Gor Mahia’s match day tickets.
Gor Mahia will be aiming to bounce back after a heavy 4-1 loss away to USM Alger in a CAF Champions League match played at Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Algeria.
