Bandari FC head coach Bernard Mwalala’s recent great run in the Kenyan football scene seem to have finally caught the attention of a club outside Kenya.
Mwalala has been tipped to join Tanzanian giants Yanga SC with the Dar es Salaam based side revealing it’s desire to land the highly rated tactician.
According to sources within Yanga SC, a move for Mwalala has already been made.
“I can confidently tell you Yanga have already talked to Mwalala,” Said a source as quoted by Goal.
Mwalala, also a former player for Yanga SC is expected to take over the reigns of power from Mwinyi Zahera who will be shown the door following the team’s recent poor run both at home and at the continental scene.
The record 27 time Tanzanian Champions are currently 15th on the Tanzania Premier League Standings with Seven points. Yanga have however played Four games, three less than leaders Simba SC who have 18 points.
Under Mwalala, Bandari FC have seen a tremendous rise up the Kenyan football ladder. The Coastal based side have won the Sportpesa Shield. The team finished second last season and as a result qualified for the CAF confederations run where they made it to the knockout stages but fell to Horoya AC of Guinea 5-2 on aggregate.
Should Mwalala join Yanga, he will link up with his former custodian Farouq Shikalo.
