KPL side Kariobangi Sharks have today confirmed the appointment of Ezekiel Seda as the club’s assistant coach.
Seda’s appointment follow’s the departure of former assistant coach Collins Omondi who parted ways with the Club.
Seda was recently forced to retire from football after a nagging knee injury made it impossible for him to enjoy the sport he loves most.
He was therefore forced to terminate his contract with AFC Leopards with the knee injury he sustained in a KPL match vs Bandari FC in Mombasa proving disastrous to his Playing career.
“This is the has been the hardest to make, this injury has led me to consider my playing career and I have come to a conclusion that at this point I would wish to put an end to my playing career and pursue other ventures,” Said Seda back then.
He will now be charged with running things at Kariobangi Sharks together with head coach William Muluya.
His first assignment will be the upcoming clash between Sharks and English based side Everton FC at the Kasarani Stadium on Sunday, 7th July.
Below is the Club’s Full statement:
“Following the vacancy created after we parted ways with our former assistant coach Collins Omondi, the club is pleased to announce that Ezekiel Seda has been appointed as the assistant coach of the senior team.
Seda joins us for his first coaching job having only recently retired from football. Being a former player in the league, he brings with him a proper understanding of the local game.
Further to that, as a young coach, he becomes another part of our system of promoting youth football and we hope his age will be an advantage in dealing with our relatively young squad.
We look forward to good times with him on our bench.”
