Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava has finally found a new home.

The 26 Year Old is set to join Zambian giants Nkana FC days after announcing that his time at Kogallo was up.

Shakava confirmed that he would leave Gor Mahia after the team’s 2-1 loss at the hands of the Green Eagles from Zambia at the Cecafa Kagame Cup Tournament in Rwanda.

“It is my own decision to quit the club at the end of my contract and I will not pen a new deal with Gor. No one has compelled me to take this action but it is my personal decision to look for other options elsewhere,” Said Shakava as quoted by Futaa.com

Well, he has now found a new home, not in Kenya but in Zambia with Nkana where he will link up with Kenyan duo of Musa Mohamed and Duncan Otieno. The two moved to the Red Devils in 2018 from FK Tirana of Albania and AFC Leopards respectively.

Shakava’s contract was set to expire in December but it now looks like Kogallo have allowed the man who has served them diligently in the past to make a move with five months still left in his current contract.

The Club has handed him a release letter and wished him all the best in Zambia.

“Shakava has been handed his release letter and he’s heading to Nkana. The Zambian have been trailing him for close to two years now and the player requested that he be allowed to leave now. The management heeded to his demand and he has left. We wish him all the best for the future,” a source from Gor Mahia camp told Opera News.

Gor Mahia have already brought in a replacement for Shakava with the club completing the signing of Maurice ‘Fadha’ Ojwang from Powermen Western Stima on Tuesday.

He is expected to partner Joash Onyango at heart of Gor Mahia defence.

Shakava joined Gor Mahia in 2014 from KPL rivals Kakamega Homeboyz and became outstanding with his performances that even saw him handed the captain’s armband.

He was recently linked with a move to KPL Moneybags Wazito FC.
