Where will Gor Mahia Skipper Harun Shakava play at next season? There is no doubt that Shakava is one of the best defenders to ever set foot in the Kenya Premier League.

His consistent performances have made him a household name among the Football fraternity in the Country and despite not making it to the National Team Squad for the African Cup of Nations, he remains a prized asset in the KPL.

With that in mind, a number of football clubs are out to secure his services. Shakava has got less than six months remaining on his current contract with League Champs Gor Mahia and as such, there are doubts over his future at the club.

“I cannot tell where I will be playing next season because as it stands, my contract with the club is almost over. Officials have not opened talks with me and as per Fifa rules, I am allowed to negotiate with other teams,” Said Shakava back in May.

It now seems like the Defender has opted to start talks with new KPL boys Wazito FC.

The Ricardo Badoer’s side have approached Shakava with intentions of getting him into their books.

Having secured KPL promotion, Wazito are looking to bolster their squad with a number of players who have experience in Kenya’s top most league.

Shakava has revealed that he has been contacted by the KPL new boys but has insisted that nothing much has materialized yet.

“Yes, Wazito have contacted me and are interested for my services, but nothing has been formalized. They are a good team for sure with ambition, but I am still a Gor Mahia player,” He Said.

“I still have six months left with K’Ogalo and for sure I cannot tell whether I will be with them next season or not.”

Shakava has been at K’Ogalo since 2014, winning five league titles in the process, and has gone on to skipper the team for two seasons.

Should Gor Mahia extend Shakava’s contract or should the Defender Jump Ship to Wazito FC?
